{Journal} Day Questions 1

This is a post of random questions and answers about my life at the moment :) I was planning on a post about jogging. But somehow, the inspiration was coming. Writer's block, I guess. Can you sympathize?

Date?
1-29-13. It's Kansas Day, guys! Did you "celebrate"? We had some Kansas-themed meals. And the younger students had some Kansas history and coloring pages. The coloring was tempting :)
Temperature?
45o, and very beautiful!
Am I wearing a smile?
Now I am! I'd forgotten until I read that question! Gotta' remember to smile!!
What color are my socks?
Purple polar fleece, and very warm!
What is the craziest thing I've done today?
I made corn fritters for a Kansas-themed breakfast. Which included egg white beating, and deep fat frying. Those are two things that scare me with cooking, so I felt pretty crazy doing both in one morning.
What is convicting me?
Prayer. About two months ago during Wednesday night Bible study, the topic was prayer. (We're reading through a book on spiritual disciplines.) Oh, so convicting. It's been on my brain for awhile. I do pray, but I don't have a SET time to stop completely and pray. I'm working on it.
What is the first thing I see when I look up?
A bowl
What am I looking forward to?
Tomorrow. As a final home-ec activity in a cooking unit, I'm doing all the meals. I think I might respect my mom a lot more by the end!
What is the best thing I've eaten today?
Chocolate peanut butter or coffee with caramel macchiato powder.
What's out the window?
A quiet twilight time. Lovely.
What am I dreading?
Getting my coverall on and going to check my goats. It's not a big deal, I just have to get myself to do it!
What movie have I watched most recently?
"Ever After"
What am I thankful for?
Convictions, and knowing something was "totally God"!
When was the last time I laughed?
At Mr. Weddle's "Civicon" class this afternoon.
What book have I most recently read or listened to?
"Pride and Prejudice". I was listening to it this afternoon.
What are my plans for tomorrow?
The above mentioned cooking, and hopefully some catch-up cleaning.
What would I LOVE to do right now?
Eat a whole bag a trail mix :)
What song have I had stuck in my head?
"I Will Glory in My Redeemer" was the long song I remember humming.
Have I been diligent with my school today?
Not so much. I did get some done, but probably not as much as I could have.
What is one thing I would like to get done today?
The day's almost over, so not too much more. I really wanted to get a math lesson done, and it happened!

{Life and Pictures} Out-and-About

This post is titled "out-and-about". But that was a joke, we haven't gone anywhere. At least, I feel like I haven't left the house in a month. Thankfully, last week, I got some much-looked-forward-to social time! (I really hadn't left the house in three weeks! Not quite a month, but it felt like it!) Anyway, this is some of the things I did get to do away from the "farm" ;)

First, a LONG delayed report. We did go to Garden City with our cousins to surprise our grandparents. It was so worth it, and definitely surprised them! We ended up calling Grandma on the way. All the boys were scared of surprising her :) I loved spending some time with my cousins as well. Like, the WHOLE drive to Garden City and back. At THAT point, I was close to ripping my hair out. I needed to GET AWAY FROM THOSE BOYS!! The whole whole family got together for Christmas the same weekend. It was fun/special. And, just in case you wanted to know, my family KNOWS how to do Christmas sweets :) There was some amazing food! (Of course, food would be something that stuck out to me.)

The only other social time I've had is Mr. Weddle's "civecon" (civics+economics) class, and a CHIEF basketball game. Mr. Weddle's classes are always amusing, and I think I've already learned something. Which is good. "Civecon" is a subject I need a LOT of help with! The basketball games were exciting as well. (I don't think I've ever said "basketball is exciting") My mom answered all my questions patiently which was very, very helpful. I think I'm starting to enjoy basketball more. Knowing VERY BASICALLY what's happening helps!

In this post, I've probably given hibernating a bad name. But don't get me wrong. I really do enjoy days spent a home, with nowhere I need to rush off to (See the pinterest picture below. It sums up the best reason staying home is fun!). I can even enjoy a few weeks of going nowhere. But, after a while, I need to see PEOPLE!! :) I think with classes starting soon, some social time will be re-entered into our boring life. I'm excited. ;)

{Pictures} 2013

Here's a sum-up of 2013 for me, through pictures. I'm going to try to go by month. Although, that's more organization than I can usually manage! :) And hey, we're only a week and a half into January, so I'm not so late with this post! :)

January:

Sledding is a winter highlight for me. We went several times last winter, and had some awesome sled trains!

February:

Sledding, again. :) But this time with some added.... flair. As in, sledding in a boat, and pulling skis behind the boat. :) It was fun. BUT, in order to ride the skis, you had to take off your boats and walk through the snow in your SOCKS! Brr!

March:

Spring kids! Little baby goats create a stir at our "farm".

April:

One of my cousins got married! Mom, Tyler, and I were all involved in the wedding. I really like weddings, and this one was so pretty! Country through-and-through. From sitting on hay bales, to mason jar cups as favors! :)

May:

 Nothing really exciting happened in May. There was mud, and we played in it. ;)

I ran across this picture of Sam I took in May. I really like it, she's so pretty, and spring colors are perfect for her!


June:

I spent June on my great Alaskan adventure. I enjoyed it so much, even if I got very homesick. I especially liked my dad surprising me on the way home. We went to the CUTEST donut shop ever, at 5:00 in the morning in Seattle. :) I loved that little store. I think working at a place like that would be a dream job for me!

July:

Rollerblading with some friends! Except for some people (HANNAH!) who quit rollerblading and just ran down the road without shoes on! Crazy ;)

August:

Volleyball started in August with my first tournament as a highschooler! Every year, I worry about my team. How will we work together? How can I enjoy it as much as I did last year? What if we loose every game? Every year, my worry is proved useless. I love each season more, and I love each different group of girls as much as the last. It's a crazy, exciting season. And so fun!

September:

Volleyball tournaments. Two CHIEF tournaments made for great team bonding time! Exhausting, long days. We got 3rd in the first, and 2nd place in the second tournament!

October:

Starting to see a trend? More volleyball and football. :)

November:

Mother/daughter flag football game. I've really looked forward to this game! It was SLIGHTLY more rough-and-tumble this year, thanks to some alumni who were invited because of low mother numbers. And, sadly, the daughters lost this time. It was a really fun evening, though!

December:

Family time. Enough said. Spending time with my noisy family is always a highlight.
